A BAS III Landscapes of Memory Studio project, 2025

Heritage Cove is a transformative Cape History Museum, hidden beneath the landscape of Maiden’s Cove, Cape Town. The museum reveals how the evolution of the coastline has shaped the identity of the Cape and all it’s citizens. Visitors are invited to descend into a time before the first people and bear witness to every era unfolding as an informant of who each of us are and where we stand today. We are further invited to contemplate and discuss our role in shaping a transformative future for ourselves and the Cape at large at the futuring centre.
Heritage Cove respects the sanctity of meaningful, reflective museum space and joyful, sacred recreational space, by curating the interplay of these spaces down to just a few strategic points at the museum entrance and exit.
